Just phoning it in.
Phoning it in, is a colloquial term for just going through the motions. Not putting any effort into something. Instead of taking care of it directly, you just do the minimal amount to satisfy whatever it is you are trying to do.
So, when do you feel like giving up?
It's when you realize how long it takes to do something, and wished it was done quicker. Except it doesn't. You know what you are supposed to do, and you do it regardless of whether you want to or not. It is you life on rails. The meaning of why you are here, flows through that moment. That moment is when you see your life on rails for the first time. Pattern implies reason, reason implies purpose.
When you have to have an alarm to wake you up for the job that you have, and you basically do the same thing over and over driving in, doing a job, driving home. go to bed, repeat, repeat, repeat.
You end up doing what you do, not because of whimsy, but because you are supposed to. Just try to change from that. Deviate from that path and what happens? Everything goes awry.
When your path goes awry, you either spiral downwards, until you are at the very bottom, or you change direction.
But here's the thing. You created this path. God gave you certain places to be, for you do something at a certain time. You filled in the rest. You have already made these decisions you have yet to make. That downward spiral, you chose to go through that. But why? Why would you do that to yourself?
Why indeed. Why not just go from point A to point B in life? Because in agreement, you made with God to be allowed into this life, you have to do those things.
Think about that.
